St Helens Fabric or Paper Lampshade Workshop

This is being held in the Senior Citizens Club rooms next door to the Portland MemorialHall and places are limited to 10
N.B. IF YOU WISH TO MAKE A LARGER SHADE THEN PLEASE CALL ME OR EMAIL TO DISCUSS PRICE AND ADVISE ON THE FABRIC OR PAPER YOU WILL NEED.
In a relaxed small group you will be provided with the steps, materials and tools needed to create anew magnificent lampshade for ceiling or a lampbase.
What you will get out of the workshop:

Most importantly, have lots of fun!!
Your tutor Annie is also passionate about conscious living, if you have a shade at home you would love to refurbish, bring it along for show and tell and Annie will give you some tips and tricks on how to upcycle your old shades. Likewise with any bases that need beautifying. Please consider recycling a piece of fabric.

FAQ’s
Do I need to bring any materials?
If you are making a paper shade then Paper size will need to be minimum 80 x 40 cm with horizontal pattern. Think wallpaper, posters, hand made paper or some of your own artwork. Shipping charts, maps etc also possibly suitable.
A selection of unique fabrics from Australian designers are available on the day at various prices starting at just $10. Or bring along a favourite piece of natural fibre fabric (30x100cm). Using a piece of fabric that is special to you will also make a great talking point as part of your décor. Can I purchase a seat as a gift?
Yes, just contact Annie prior to the workshop to organise this.
Should I bring snacks?
No, delicious healthy snacks and good coffee/tea will be included in your ticket. bYO lunch
I have never created a lampshade does that matter?
No prior skills required to make a shade. It’s within every ones reach. As we are hand making the shade some moderate hand dexterity is needed to make the shade .
Is there an age limit?
Suitable for ages 15 – 99
