Cruising

Why you’ll love it

Taking a day to relax aboard a luxury cruise boat or yacht with a glass of fine Tasmanian sparkling and a picnic basket full of gourmet local produce is an essential East Coast Tasmania side trip. Cruising on the East Coast gives you an opportunity to truly unwind, and take in the full spectacle of the region’s scenic beauty and diverse wildlife (and spoil yourself a little at the same time).

Where you’ll find it

Wineglass Bay Cruises

Pennicott Wilderness Journeys offers tours aboard the luxury vessel Schouten Passage II, travelling around the peninsula from Coles Bay to Wineglass Bay. Cruises operate daily, year round (except Christmas Day).

Freycinet Charters

Freycinet Charters operates out of Coles Bay and offers private and personalised small group charters around Freycinet Peninsula.

East Coast Cruises

Set sail with East Coast Cruises in a small, intimate group and explore Maria Island with experienced locals. Our cruise boat SPIRIT OF MARIA is the only vessel operating cruises and tours to Maria Island and the Ile Des Phoque’s giant sea caves. Our two signature tours, Ile Des Phoques and Maria Island Circumnavigation, depart from Triabunna marina and feature seven hours of adventure and discovery. We’ll take you to seal haul-outs, the Painted Cliffs, Fossil Cliffs and secret locales, indulging you with Tasmanian fare and local sparkling. On foot, together we’ll explore Darlington, Maria Island’s World Heritage listed convict settlement.

Wineglass Bay Sail Walk

Tas Walking Company presents you with  Wineglass Bay Sail Walk,  a unique chance to experience the beaches, peninsulas and walking trails of Maria Island, Freycinet Peninsula and Schouten Island. Choose from four or six day experiences sailing aboard the luxury ketch Lady Eugenie to each of your walking destinations. Enjoy gourmet dinners onboard or under the stars on an East Coast beach and sleep in the comfort of the Lady Eugenie’s cabins each night.

Bay of Fires Eco Tours

2-3 hour tours from Bay of Fires Eco Tours to the Bay of Fires, The Gardens and St Helens Island departing from Binalong Bay aboard the ecotourism vessel Infurneaux.
