Discover the Surf Coast

The surf coast includes the long white beaches of Seymour, Chain of Lagoons, Four Mile Creek, Falmouth, Scamander and Beaumaris. Surfers will be happy all year long here, with reliable swells and a mild climate, even in winter. Need a surf lesson? Look no further than 42 South Surf School for lessons and board hire.

Feeling swell?
It must be the Surf Coast!

Accommodation options include self-catering holiday houses, caravan parks and excellent free camping. Also available are comfortable ocean-side hotels, motels and resorts. The Surfside is located right on the beach and offers beers, burgers and beds – what more could you need? White Sands Estate is home to Iron House (brewery, distillery and vineyard) and Slightly Salty restaurant: a one-stop-shop for accommodation, surfing, mini-golf and great food, wine, gin and whisky. Little Beach Co is nestled in the dunes and offers luxury bell tents, villas and a resort residence.

Recharge your batteries with beach walks, estuary fishing, whale watching or sampling the local produce with a meal in a local restaurant, pub or café. It’s not just about the beach here. Meander through the Winifred Curtis Reserve just south of Scamander to experience the natural serenity of this special place with a huge variety of botanicals. Popular coffee spots include Swims East Coast Coffee and The River Mouth Cafe, both in Scamander, and both with outstanding coastal views.

Eureka Farm has been growing berries and fruits and manufacturing ice cream, famous summer puddings and jams, sauces and chutneys since 1990. Opening hours are seasonal so do check in advance.

Bicheno is a short 30 minute drive from the surf coast. Browse in local shops and galleries, or join a wildlife or sightseeing tour. Take a drive off the coastal road and visit Douglas Apsley National Park, located inland from Bicheno.
